Professional Experience and Interests
Having been employed in private industry as a Human Resources professional and senior manager for over ten years, I re-trained as a Psychotherapist. Since then I have worked on a freelance basis as a Management Consultant and Executive coach, and developed a Counselling/Psychotherapy private practice.
As a Management Consultant/Coach I have worked with clients on a variety of issues from individual professional development to corporate strategy. I have particular experience with supporting clients in transforming ideas and hopes into workable implementation plans.
As a Counsellor/psychotherapist I have experience of working with clients in various settings: charitable, NHS and private practice and for many reasons. I have particular experience of working with counselling clients through transition phases of their lives and with clients who have experienced profound or traumatising loss in their lives.
Professional Qualifications
MA in Humanistic Person-Centred Psychotherapy – accredited by University of Birmingham
Post-graduate Certificate and Diploma in the same field.
Post –graduate Certificate in Personnel Management – accredited by University of Derby School of Business Management
BSc (Hons) degree – accredited by University of Derby.
Membership of Professional Bodies
Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
Registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Additional Information
Confidentiality
Apart from specific legal exceptions, the content of all sessions is confidential. In the circumstance where a client may seriously harm themselves or another, I reserve the right to break confidentiality to the appropriate persons. If this becomes necessary I will endeavour to discuss it with the client beforehand.
Fees
Standard fees: £45 per session. Initial session is half-price with no obligation to continue.
Fees for Corporate clients are dependent on arrangements pre-agreed with employers
Availability
Available for private clients at Be-ing Psychotherapy, Derby: Monday – Wednesday from 9am-2pm
Available for corporate clients at locations to suit employer, subject to pre-agreed arrangements
